Chocolate Bourbon Pie is a decadent, sweet, chocolate, bourbon flavored, nut filled slice of make-an-appointment-with-your-dentist tooth aching deliciousness! One bite will do ya! Order a slice and share it.
Or make my version. You’ll love it! Still sweet a-plenty, but not achingly so! Dark chocolate adds intense drama to the fudgy texture and sliced almonds replace pecans.
**Renee’s Chocolate Bourbon Pie**
Ingredients:
1 unbaked pie shell
1 bar unsweeted chocolate 3.5 oz
– I used Lindt 85% dark chocolate
1 stick butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup plain flour
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp bourbon
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 cup sliced almonds
Break chocolate bar into sections and melt it with the butter. Stir together.
Mix sugars and flour together. Add egss and thoroughly combine. Add to the chocolate and butter combination. Add all flavorings and stir until well incorporated and shiny. Then stir in almonds.
Pour mixture into pie shell and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
Depending on your oven you may need five more minutes baking time, but don’t over bake. You want it to stay a little soft as it will firm up when it cools.
If you really want a treat, serve warm with a scoop of ice cream.
Traditionally this pie uses southern pecans. But I like the flavor of the almonds with the bourbon. You could substitute whatever you like – walnuts or pecans. And of course, serve with a sprig of mint!

Hope you have a good Mother’s Day.
I made this pie for my husband when he returned from a military flight overseas. He loved it. I’ll definitely be making it again…especially since it is so simple that even a very average baker like me can handle it. Thanks so much for the recipe. I got major wife points on this one.
