Happy snow covered President’s Day!
It’s the perfect snowstorm! Lovely and fluffy – cotton batting.
It caps off the lanterns and shrubs around the deck.
And drips like royal icing off feathery tips of the evergreens.
The rosemary bush becomes a delicate sculpture.
And turns shrubs into snowballs. But it doesn’t stick to the roads or walks.
So I can just relax and enjoy the view!

Wow. Enjoy. Where in France? Put up a new blog about NYC. Join the blog in return favor of my joining yours? Blogging about NYC, including restaurants, hotels, Broadway, etc. (from an alternative perspective…not mainstream) playwrights, Actor’s Studio, etc.

Welcome Carole. I’m looking forward to hearing all about NYC from your perspective.
That’s my kind of day!
~d.
I thought about you and all your love of snow.
Awwww!! Hope you enjoyed your snowy day!
Hi,
It all looks so lovely in your photos. 🙂
Thanks Mags. This is my kind of snow – all beauty, no problems.
Beautiful photos! Love the light on the evergreens. No snow for us….and that’s okay with me.
I went out early to capture the moments before the sun became too warm and melted it all. I’m glad you liked it.
Isn’t it just like a dusting of powdered sugar? I love snow like that – so very pretty.
Our snow is gone .. mostly .. but I hear more’s a-coming!
Cheers to you
MJ
What a lovely description – it is like powdered sugar. But it is mostly gone now too and the rest will likely disappear today.
Nothing like a dusting of snow to change the perspective! Enjoy. And thanks for sharing.
It always seems a little like a fairy tale and can jump start the imagination like nothing else.
It looks so pretty when it’s first fallen and undisturbed.
I went out early to capture it before it disappeared or got mushy. It’s a real mess after that.
Lots of snow… prefect season out there… 🙂
Thanks Varun.
Very pretty and peaceful. We have almost no snow here and it’s very odd. We’re getting a big storm later but it will be all rain. The weirdest winter we’ve had in awhile!
It’s been a weird winter here as well. This is our first snow and it was followed by temps in the 50’s. I love it though.
What a beautiful veiw you have. I’m assuming it’s your view. I couldn’t read the post but the pictures are amazing. Once again you have made me jealous. haha.
Yes, it’s at my house. And I love that although everything was covered except the driveway, sidewalk and roads. It had been warm the day before and they held the heat. Yay!
Beautiful photographs. You know, how much I love snow, although I never experience this color of nature. 🙂 Thank you Renee, passing on the glimpse of it to us, through your blog. 🙂
I hope you get to see some snow soon – and toast it with champagne!
Really beautiful. A perfect day to build a big fire, make a big pot of soup, and take in that gorgeous view.
Thanks Annie, and your suggestions make it even better.
So nice and especially so from afar. No snow this way for the year. Enjoy!
It’s our first of the year Totsy, and it is very polite. We did not have to scrape drives or shovel sidewalks. Now that’s my kind of snow!
Looks so beautiful! Great photos!
Thank you Monica. I had to capture them early before it all melted.
Perfect title for the perfect photos. Your snow storm is so lovely just like a winter wonderland. Beautiful. 🙂
Thank you. It was nice especially since it behaved so well.
What a dusting in your part of the world. I think it would send me to deciding to stay indoors.
You are a little further south than I am. Do you guys get any snow there?
Not often. Once every 5-7 years. It happens infrequently enough that we will say “Remember when it snowed…?” rather than “Well, with the last snow…” We all still remember the Christmas snow event of 2004. It was magical. On Christmas Eve on the drive to my mother’s house…it snowed! So let’s see…that was 7-8 years ago. Our winter has been too warm this year bringing blessed rain.
Renee, this is what I call the sprinkling of fairy dust! Shallow enough so that you can still discern what’s underneath. The snow that fell here has already melted and for that I’m glad. The first day is wonderful but then it just makes walking a nightmare. Methinks the weather you’re having inspires crumpets and tea! Lovely photos! 🙂
What a great idea – crumpets and tea! If only I knew where to get a crumpet. LOL.
Very pretty and peaceful. I saw a robin today. We shouldn’t see them for another month. No snow here and while I love the clear roads it has been a very odd, snowless winter.
This has been our one and only and it melted before the sun went down. Not that I minded. It was nice to enjoy it briefly and get it out of the way.
Oh goodness. I’m so cold just looking at it. I love the way it looks in pictures. I just don’t like living cold. Keep the hot chocolate and marshmallows coming, my friend!
It was cold for a brief few hours and then warmed back up. But I can still enjoy the hot chocolate and marshmallows.
Wow! And I thought I got a lot of snow here! You definitely got me beat. I love the snow, it’s so beautiful and pristine. I hope you were able to go out and enjoy it a bit.
Ashley
Thanks, yes, I did enjoy it while it lasted. But it has been such an unusually warm winter that it mostly melted before the day was finished.
You had a gorgeous drop of snow, I am sure it is all gone by now but I do love your pictures! c
Thanks so much Cecilia. It was fun while it lasted.
Pleaseeee send me some snow in Texas!!
It’s on the way just for you!
Awesome snow pictures. I really like the softness in the pictures, brings out a feeling of soft and abundant snow. The last photo is my favourite. Must have been great with all that snow, that is if you like snow…
I certainly liked this snow. Thanks for stopping by again.
