The news arrived mere moments ago.
Yeah!
Not the winner, but runner-up for the second year in a row in the travel portion of the essay contest for Storyhouse with my tale of adventures in the great West titled – Down the Rabbit Hole with Alice.
Last year’s – What Is It About Paris? – also took the runner-up spot.
Please check out these two essays if you haven’t already and this year’s winning piece as well – The Stream – by Isabel Bucher. Graciously, I cede defeat to her touching story.
And to all of the winners, placers, and participants; I say – well done!
Congrats, Renee. I will return to read your essay soon!
Thanks Dianna. I hope you will pass your opinion on to me.
Congratulations! Well done.
Thank you Elyse. I’m very happy about it.
Whoop Whoop!! Good on you. I shall return to read all posts 🙂
MJ
Merci boucoup!
I think this is terrific!
Thanks John.
Congratulations. What fantastic encouraging news Renee.
I already read your stories (and loved them both) when I first came over to your blog.
I have to walk the dog – he’s been barking to let me know it’s time to go for the past 15 minutes – so will read Isabel Bucher’s story when I return
Thank you Rosie. It’s nice to hear that you like it.
Fabulous!
Yeah!
Oh, congratulations, Renee. This is award is well-deserved. Caveat: I loathe travel writing. But I read your Down the Rabbit Hole with Alice with a smile on my face. You were so close to me. And the Lamar Valley. I do want to go there and spend some quality time there. It is one of the best places of Yellowstone Park. But you know…I’ve also been to Sandwich…that’s in N. H., right? When I was there, the leaves were lovely and the sky was blue. I guess it’d be a whole different story with rain. So happy for your success.
Thank you. I was close to you and we almost crossed over into Idaho. Now I wish I had.
Next time. 😉
Congratulations, Renee!
Thanks Patti.
That’s great!!!!!
We both enjoy travel don’t we?
Congratulations and thank you for sharing such exciting news. I’m honored we are among the first to know. Loved Down the Rabbit Hole with Alice– again. And how did I miss What Is It About Paris? What is it about rabbits that the French eat them? Those poor rabbits destined to become paté de lapin. You certainly saw Paris through the eyes of Parisians and not a tourist. Loved that you met and really interacted with some of its citizens. You heard Robert right–“R” in Portuguese is pronounced “h”…not trilled, however it is in Spanish. Thank goodness you got to the airport. Good luck next year–third year may be the charm (cliché I know.)
You need to go with me on my next adventure. It sounds like you have all of the languages down pat! I’m still listening with a twang of southern accent in my ears, much less in my voice. But I enjoy it so much, as I believe you do as well.
Congrats, Renee!
Thanks Darla.
Hooray! So excited!
(WIll return to read entry – don’t want to have to rush through it)
Sooooo cooooool!
Thank you Karen. They were fun to write and I hope you enjoy them.
Congratulations. It’s so cool to see your byline in print. Hooray and may you have many more awards. You deserve it.
Thanks Barb. A byline is cool and I appreciate your comment.
Congrats Renee! It’s really great. I remember last time also you took the runner up spot. Just like Barb, I too feel many more awards are waiting for you. Go and grab them all with your wonderful writing ability. Good luck!
Thanks Arindam. From your lips to God’s ears.
Congratulations! You write so well that your recognition is well deserved xx
How nice of you to say so. Thanks.
I remember that story of yours! I loved it, I guess “they” did too! Congrats Renee…I love the way you write.
~d.
Thank you Dianna. I’m impressed that you remembered it. That’s always nice to hear.
Hey how could I forget? It was about the West after all! 😉 Plus it was just plain good.
Congratulations … as a newbee, looking forward to learning more.
Thank you. Glad we connected.
Congratulations, Renee! I think this merits a victory run around the living room. And a victory dance! 🙂
I’m cha-cha-cha-ing just for you Bella. Thanks.
Congratulations Renee! I will be back to read both your stories very soon.
Thank you. I appreciate the support.
This is EXCELLENT! 🙂 Once is choice … two years in a row is truly achievement. Well done.
