Dianna at These Days of Mine is well known for her lovely pictures of sunrises, sunsets, barns and swans. She is indeed a very inspiring blogger and shared this award with me. Thank you Dianna!
Both of us are followers of MJ over at emjayandthem, and she recently posted a thought provoking piece called The Spark which asks us to ask 7 questions of ourselves. The irony is that The Very Inspiring Blogger Award requests that the recipient share 7 things about themselves. So Dianna put the two together and I think it is a fabulous idea!
So these are my answers to MJ’s challenge and Dianna’s award.
I’m most creative … when I’m writing and my mind is in the zone where anything can happen.
If I were a color, I’d be … read – pronounced red!
I often imagine myself … published and signing copies of my enormously popular hardbacks.
I really wish I knew how to … find an agent – you need to be published to impress an agent and you need an agent to find a publisher – the infamous catch-22.
I’d love to spend a lazy Sunday … riding horses through the mountains in Bland, Virginia; stopping for a picnic under a shade tree and watching the wildlife.
I’m most excited about … the elk that have appeared near our property in Virginia. I can’t wait to wake up to the sound of one bugling in the meadow.
My secret talent is … apparently finding four leaf clovers. I didn’t realize so many people aren’t gifted at this.
Now I’m supposed to pass it on. I’d like to pass it to all of the bloggers in my blogroll. After all, if they didn’t inspire me, they wouldn’t be listed here. And each has a niche that is uniquely their own. Whether skewed to writing advice, humor, travel, photography, crafts, relationships, or random observances – like my own – about life, they each have a talent for making me smile, ask a question, or helping me see something in a new and different light. And isn’t that what all writing is about really?
Please check out each of these blogs when you have a chance. You won’t be disappointed.
Hi,
Congrats on your award, and you are spot on about the four leaf clovers. 🙂
Thanks Mags. You are very inspiring as well.
Favorite color is “read” – love it!
I didn’t realize you lived in Bland. I don’t think I’ve never been there, but my first husband was from Glade Spring – not too far away.
And I didn’t know there were elk in Virginia!
Enjoyed your acceptance post; thanks for your kind words.
Yes, they stocked Buchannan County last year but some elk were already migrating from KY and WV. Tazewell, Scott, Russell and Bland are all on the list for stocking, however, the farmers aren’t taking it too well. My understanding is that the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has agreed to reimburse them for any losses due to elk damage. We’ll see. A five x five was killed during hunting season about a mile from our farm. We don’t live there – we live in NC – but we have a farm there and a cabin. It’s a little slice of heaven that joins the Jefferson National Forest and has a fantastic view. And it’s only about an hour and a half away traveling up I-77.
Oooh can I come horseback riding with you? Maybe we’ll spot that elk!!
🙂 MJ
I would love nothing more! We might see black bear, coyote, even a wild steer – long story!
wild steer? Now that I’d have to see!! 🙂
Elk in VA, how cool. A very different part of VA from mine though.
Nice post, as always!
Thanks Elyse. It is very cool indeed. Don’t ya just love wildlife!
Hey lady! No bloggers popped up on there to check out. Maybe I misunderstood. I wish we had elk here to watch. There are further into the mountain we are in the valley and in town. I loved your answers. So typical you. Thank you for always being so kind and supportive!
The bloggers – including you my darling – are in the blogroll to the right. It may be in small print, but should be located in a list above the candlelight. You definitely inspire me!
Keep writing and I will read. Love where you take us and each piece sucks me in. You are a dedicated blogger. Congratulations and thank you for the inspiration.
Right back at ya Georgette. Your posts are always so thoughtful and well written. I enjoy each one.
Congrats on getting one more award Renee. You always motivates all of us with your posts and comments. keep on doing that for all of us. Lots of good wishes for you. 🙂
Arindam you are on my ‘very inspiring’ blogroll as well. I truly appreciate your ‘blog’ friendship.
Renee, congratulations on the award. It is well deserved! And best of luck finding an agent. I think you can find one but it may take some work. I’m a fan and I’d love to see you published!
From your lips to God’s ears! Maybe your good wishes and my four leaf clovers will pay off. Thanks for the confidence.
I like the approach you took towards answering!
Thanks John. No pressure to accept the award, but there if you want it.
Congrats, Renee. Well-deserved for sure! I would love to spend a day riding horseback, spotting elk, and finding four leaf clovers. Got to be more fun than tracking down an agent! I struggle with the same thing.
Thanks Annie. It’s a daunting task for sure.
Congratulations! You deserve this award you are entertaining and inspiring. I hope someday you can get an agent.
About the 4 leaf clovers: I thought of you Saturday when my I was planting a few shamrock seeds for me and my Grandson. I thought, if were Renee were here, she could find us some 4 leaf clovers and we could add them to these to have a green bouquet for St. Patrick’s day. 🙂
I love your comment. What a nice thing for you to do with your Grandson! I am so flattered that you thought of me while planting the seeds. We have the nicest village of bloggers and I think of you all as friends.
Congratulations on your award! Most deserved, indeed! I love blogging and how it brings so many of us together in our love of writing. Thank you for passing it on to me and all on your blogroll list. It’s always fun–and an honor–to be recognized! 🙂
Thanks Monica. I enjoy your blog tremendously and find it ‘very inspiring’. You always have a unique perspective and a fabulous sense of humor. Enjoy your award!
As usual, you have such interesting blogs! Let’s get together, I met a publisher who you may be interested in (and vice-versa!)
Hi Val! I’m definitely interested. Will be sending you an e-mail.
Congratulations, Renee. The award is well-deserved. I hope you won’t give up on that dream of publishing. Maybe the first book needs to be self-published. That may help get the attention of an agent — or you might find you no longer need one.
Good advice. Thanks Charles.
Renee, congratulations on your award! I loved reading your answers. Your dream of “being published and signing copies of my enormously popular hardbacks” is one I’m sure a lot of us share. As for the dilemma for finding an agent, please come back and lead the rest of us to success when you triumph in this endeavor! 🙂
Bella, we are all in this soup together. Hopefully, when it happens for one of us, we can be the connection that helps everyone else.
Congratulations on this well-deserved reward.
Thank you so much.
Congratulations, Renee! My friend’s daughter lives near or in Buckhannon, Va. Small world!
It is small indeed Patti. Have you talked to her about the elk? I hope they are successful there.
Those clovers should bring you luck in your book signing. I’m gonna be the one standing in line with a paperback though. Make sure you sign it, ‘Dearest Totsy…’
Dearest Totsy,
From your lips to God’s ears. Here’s hoping….
Congrats on your award, Renee. Very well deserved. 🙂
Thank you Wendy.
HUGE congrats to you, & you totally deserve it 🙂 Your blog is great, & yes, inspiring.
Thank you so much. I’m so glad we found each others’ blogs. Yours is terrific!
Congrats on the VIBA, Renee. Of course, very well-deserved! To many more in your future!
And yours as well!
Congratulations! Your idea of a lazy Sunday sounds like a perfect day to me.
Thanks Darla.
Another well-deserved award! 😀 Not a very original thing to say, but one can’t ever get too many compliments, right?
Writers especially. We love knowing that our work is appreciated. Thanks Nate.
